How to Factory Reset the ASUS RT-AC68U Wi-Fi Wireless Router
- Unplug your router.
- Find the location of the factory reset button on your RT-AC68U router.
- Plug in your RT-AC68U to power it on.
- Press and hold in the reset button for 10 seconds.
- Wait 2-3 minutes until your router has fully reset and restarted.
- You can now reconfigure your router using the default credentials.
NOTE: If the factory (also known as hard) reset button on your ASUS RT-AC68U is too small to push with your finger, try using an object such as the tip of a paper clip.
This is often the best way to press the reset button on ASUS routers.
ASUS RT-AC68U Default Login Credentials
After performing a factory reset, your ASUS RT-AC68U will be restored to its default settings. Use the following credentials to access the router’s admin panel:

- Default Username: admin
- Default Password: admin
Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.1.1 or http://router.asus.com to access the ASUS RT-AC68U setup wizard.
