How to Factory Reset the ASUS RT-N66U Wi-Fi Wireless Router

  1. Unplug your router.
  2. Find the location of the factory reset button on your RT-N66U router.
  3. Plug in your RT-N66U to power it on.
  4. Press and hold in the reset button for 10 seconds.
  5. Wait 2-3 minutes until your router has fully reset and restarted.
  6. You can now reconfigure your router using the default credentials.

NOTE: If the factory (also known as hard) reset button on your ASUS RT-N66U is too small to push with your finger, try using an object such as the tip of a paper clip.

This is often the best way to press the reset button on ASUS routers.
