How to Factory Reset the Netgear WG602 Wireless Access Point

  1. Make sure your Netgear WG602 is powered on.
  2. Locate the factory reset button on the bottom of the WG602.
  3. Using a paper clip or similar pointed object, press and hold the reset button for at least 7 seconds.
  4. Release the button and wait 2-3 minutes for the device to fully reboot.
  5. You can now reconfigure your WG602 using the default credentials below.

NOTE: If the factory (also known as hard) reset button on your Netgear WG602 is too small to push with your finger, try using an object such as the tip of a paper clip.

This is often the best way to press the reset button on Netgear devices.

Netgear WG602 Default Login Credentials

After performing a factory reset, your Netgear WG602 will be restored to its default settings. Use the following credentials to access the admin panel:

  • Default IP Address: 192.168.0.227
  • Default Username: admin
  • Default Password: password

Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.0.227 to access the Netgear WG602 configuration interface.

The Netgear WG602 is a 54 Mbps Wireless-G (802.11g) access point designed to extend a wired network with wireless connectivity. Please note that the WG602 is an access point, not a standalone router — it must be connected to an existing router or gateway to provide internet access.
